Managing the Fastcare Product Display page
1. Login as a Gentell Officer
2. Tap Products
3. The Manage Products menu appears with three buttons: Show Product Page, which displays the current product page, Download Product File, which downloads the Product Page Configuration, and Upload Product File, which uploads the Product Page Configuration that you have modified.
4. Download the current Product File.
5. Modify the Product File according to the Configuration Rules below. IMPORTANT: Save As the file as a different name. This ensures that you have a copy of the original file for reference in case you make mistakes editing the file.
6. Upload the modified Product File by tapping the Upload Product File button, then Choose File and Upload File
7. When you are satisfied with the new rules, tap the Publish this layout button.
Product File Configuration Rules
a. Always download the current file from the system, so you start from a known layout.
b. COMMENT LINES: All empty lines and lines beginning with # are ignored, but are retained in the file. Comment lines explain how to edit the Product File; the editor can add comments for future reference.
c. The three main sections are (1) the Product Display Data line, which never changes, (2) Primary products section and (3) Secondary products section.
Rules
i) The first line, first cell MUST contain the exact words Product Display Data This text identifies the file.
ii) The Primary products section starts with the word Primary in the first cell on a row by itself. Primary product names are defined below this row.
iii) The Secondary products section starts with the word Secondary in the first cell on that row by itself. Secondary products are defined below this row.
iv) In the primary and secondary sections, the first column contains the Row Description. The following cells contain the SKU for a product in that position. Row Descriptions are 19 characters wide, but will wrap around as shown in the example below. Note that the button label for the product in this example is 2x2.
v) To create a label in the middle of a row, add a non-SKU value. In the illustration above, Oil Emulsion is a label on line 19.
vi) To show button text, enter the text in the left column under Primary or Secondary.
vii) To add spaces to the text between buttons, replace a space with _ (an underscore). For example:
Roll__ | GEN-15450 | __Stretch_ | GEN-15310 |
viii) To create a button label for a new product, edit the product in the Product List, and change the button name, which defaults to a dash. If you see a dash in the Product Display, create a button label for that product in the Product List. Button labels are limited to 24 characters including spaces.
After Editing the product, tap the green Update button to save your edits. Unsaved button labels will not appear. Upload the product page again to see the button label you have created.
Error Correction: (a) Parens () and dashes - by themselves and other special characters can cause formatting problems. Remove extra parentheses and dashes. (b) If an SKU does not exist in the system, it appears as text. (c) If an SKU is removed from the product management system, it can still exist in the Product Page; amend the Product Display Data. (d) If you forget to change a button label, the button test will show '-' (dash) which is the default. Create a Button label, and upload the Product Display Data again; the Button label only changes when the Product Display Data is uploaded.
