A resident can have be categorized in one of four statuses:

Open

Closed
-
Discharged
-
Deceased
Open and Closed are categories that make it easier for nurses to view reports and find current wound residents. Both statuses indicate that a resident is still in the facility, but a nurse can categorize a resident as Closed when the resident has no current wounds.
NOTE THAT If the resident has been marked Closed, the resident will not appear in the Open listing even if the resident has open wounds. To return the resident to the Open report, change the status to Open.
